  1. Today's verses in Matthew are tough. Some who claim to speak the truth, in fact are liars. Many who claim to follow Jesus, but really aren't.

We always hear, "Do not judge?" But these verses tell us to watch out and we will know them by their fruit. It is right that we do not pass judgment (condemnation) on anyone... not our job. But we can recognize when someone is sinning and do two things.
    1. With love, help them see the sin in their lives and flee from it. A true friend can not sit by and allow something destructive in their friend's life.
    2. Keep ourselves from being influenced by them. You may need to set up boundaries or stay out of relationships with people who are not bearing good fruit.

I pray that we will be people who bear fruit and lead others to relationship with Jesus.

  2. Great thoughts Steve! I do think that I hear "do not judge" as kind of a cop out from some people who don't have the courage to either stand up for what is right or hold their friends accountable.
