The parable of the sower can teach us a lot, if we "have ears to hear." If you'll notice, the seed is the same in every circumstance. It was plnated by the same farmer in the same manner every time. What made the difference was the kind of soil it landed in or on.
Our job as followers of Jesus, is to keep planting that simple message of good news. We don't need to make it complicated. We do need to spend a lot of time preparing the soil that seed will land in.
We need to spend time being Jesus to people, softening hearts that the world has hardened. We need to teach and disciple others, so that their faith will have deep roots. We need to be an example of trusting in God, not letting the worries of this life or the love of money choke out our love of Jesus.
May the good news grow in us and produce a crop "a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown."
