Centering Prayer: Saving God, let my life be a witness.

Today's Scripture: I Peter 1:17-25

Psalm of the Week: Psalm 100

Key Verse: I John 3:16-18, "We know love by this, that he laid down his life for us -- and we ought to lay down our lives for one another. How does God's love abide in anyone who has the world's goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses help? Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action."

  1. The passage in I Peter makes me ask myself a couple of questions. Do I live like a stranger here on earth? Am I too comfortable here? Am I holding to tightly to the things of this world? Do I love deeply from the heart?
As I consider my day to day activities and decisions, I know I can do better. So I pray, like the lyrics from the Brandon Heath song:
"Give me your eyes for just one second
Give me your eyes so I can see
    Everything that I keep missing
Give me your love for humanity"
